Technology Sales
What we look for:
When you join the Technology Sales Team you will go through an intense 1 month induction training period. This will involve learning from senior members of our Business Development Team in a wide range of areas from Pitching, Targeting and Sales Techniques.
You will get the opportunity to train with SME’s & Sales Management on our Technology and offerings which will broaden your knowledge on pitching, buying signals and sales strategies. The induction period will involve hands-on training through work shadowing our current TS Teams and upskilling in both finance knowledge and technical knowledge concentrating on Kx/ kdb+.
The initial 4 week training programme will take you through First Derivatives’ wide range of services spanning financial consulting and Kx technology. Following this you will join a team responsible for growing business across our target markets worldwide. Your role could range from assisting in the expansion of our US financial consulting services, to finding new Kx sales opportunities within the Asian manufacturing market. No two days are the same and you could be responsible for the next big deal for FD!
Through the training programme, you will receive top training across all FD services including daily interaction from senior sales management and subject matter experts. We are at the forefront of every new venture and have a direct impact on the global success of First Derivatives. As such, we have exposure and dialogue with senior management from day one. There may also be various travel opportunities for conferences & events and we offer a competitive remuneration package with uncapped quarterly bonus.
Each day is different; however the aim remains the same – win business for First Derivatives. In doing so we firstly research decision makers in the relevant target market – whether that be Finance, Manufacturing, Automotive, Telco, Utilities and beyond. We prospect new clients by reaching out via outbound sales calls, emails & LinkedIn introducing First Derivatives and our relevant services with the aim of organise a further deep-dive involving sales management. Building relationships with these prospects is essential in ensuring meetings develop to next steps – we continue to maintain dialogue but sending collateral, supporting proposals and organising follow up meetings. This helps us maintain a strong pipeline of leads, potential opportunities and revenue. We have weekly checkpoints with senior management to ensure all market intelligence is passed on and help drive the First Derivatives business strategy. Overall a typical day is challenging yet rewarding.
